For us it is so important to remember that the culture of our sisterhood is meant to revolve around Christ. We are able to offer a variety of ways to build community, spend time together, and worship him in many ways such as:

  • Weekly meetings: Every Sunday evening our membership meets to connect, worship, and catch our members up on important business.

  • Bigs, littles, families, and sometimes grands: Upon rushing GAL every member is given a "big" and usually a family! Sometimes this family even has grands (see bellow in the South Broadway Baptist Church (SBBC) section). This provides a family for friendship and accountability. 

  • Agape groups: This is our version of a bible study/devotional. Each year our members are assigned a group and given material to read and discuss together.

  • Community service: A variety of community service opportunities are available for our sisters to serve the Lord and our community together! 

  • Monday night meals: Many of us attend a free meal on Monday evenings at SBBC to enjoy good company and reconnect with one another before starting the week.

  • Social events: Through out the year we offer social events for our girls to have fun, build community, and really just enjoy the company of their sisters.

Rush

RUSH

Rushing Gamma Alpha Lambda is a little different than what you would typically think sorority rush looks like. These days allow us to have discussions about The Lord, enjoy the company of Godly women, and get to know each other. Here is our schedule:

Dues

DUES

Gamma Alpha Lambda has semesterly dues that go toward one shirt, food for events and get togethers, and other misc. costs.

Your first semester with us is $160 (this includes your membership cross necklace). Every semester after that is $85.

South Broadway Baptist Church

SOUTH BROADWAY BAPTIST CHURCH

South Broadway Baptist Church is the home and sponsor church of the Gamma Alpha Lambda chapter at Pittsburg State. They have given us endless support, resources, and love.

  • Meetings: Our meetings take place in their worship space (the back building). 

  • Monday Night Meals

  • Grands: SBBC has reached out to adults within their congregation that would like to connect with the GAL ladies. These couples or singles are then connected to a GAL family. These grands are in place to mentor, love, and talk with our sisters and ultimately assist them in their walk with The Lord.
